اسالامُ علیکُم

A warm and friendly welcome to “MOTHER KHADIJA MISSION SCHOOL”. We think we have a very special school here, nestled in some lovely green space on the outskirts of Ompora District Budgam.I am incredibly proud to be working in such a welcoming and supportive community. Our children are everything to us.As a close-knit team of professional educators our commitment is to assist our learners to be the best possible people they can be! We work hard to create an environment that places great importance on forming relationships where learners feel safe, being challenged and taking risks, where goal setting is part of the learning process and where celebrating progress and success is part of everyday life. We pride ourselves on our caring, nurturing and friendly environment where high expectations for learning and behaviour are reflected in our students! This prospectus is designed to give you an outline of our school and what we can offer your child. Whether you are considering applying for a place at “MOTHER KHADIJA  MISSION SCHOOL”, or whether your child already has a place, I hope that you find this information useful.

Our aim is to give your child the best possible start to life in school and to see them progress to be happy, independent and responsible people. We hope that the information contained within this brochure will be useful to you as it will explain the main things you need to know about the school and how we always have the best interests of the children firmly in our minds.

Choosing the right school for your child is a difficult decision for every parent but our prospectus is designed to give you an insight into our school. We hope that you find it interesting. Starting school is an exciting and important time for every child and their parents and we want it to be a happy and successful experience.

We believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially, and develop their self-esteem and core values. It is our desire as educators to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. There are three elements that we believe are conducive to establishing such an environment, (1) the educator acting as a guide, (2) allowing the child's natural curiosity to direct his/her learning, and (3) promoting respect for all things and all people. The Developed countries  provides the child with a structured, supportive and balanced platform on which to develop their learning and the skills essential for life. It harnesses the child’s natural curiosity and this search for knowledge is met as they learn to find answers to their questions. For students to construct knowledge, they need the opportunity to discover for themselves and practice skills in authentic situations. This curriculum provides students with access to hands-on activities and allows adequate time and space to use materials that reinforce the lesson being studied creating an opportunity for individual discovery and construction of knowledge to occur. Helping students to develop a deep love and respect for themselves, others, and their environment occurs through an open sharing of ideas and a judicious approach to discipline. When the voice of each student is heard, an environment evolves where students feel free to express themselves. We believe children have greater respect for their teachers, their peers, and the lessons presented when they feel safe and sure of what is expected of them. In setting fair and consistent rules initially and stating the importance of every activity, students are shown respect for their presence and time.In turn they learn to respect themselves, others, and their environment.

At MKMS, students are given the tools that allow them to feel really passionate about something. Applying these tools, they can become more than students: they have the potential to become practitioners and operators, leaders and guides in their chosen fields.”

At MKMS we are committed to providing the best possible education for your child. We have an established reputation for providing high standards and expectations within a well ordered and caring environment. Our aim is to encourage pupils to achieve their best and to lay the foundations on which their future learning is built. We believe that children learn best when they feel secure and their activities are interesting and enjoyable.

A school prospectus cannot answer all of your questions but it should give you and your child an insight into our values and beliefs. There is no better way of choosing the right school for your child than by visiting. I am delighted that many parents who look around MKMS comment on the warm, purposeful atmosphere and know that their children will be happy here. We are very proud of the achievements of our children and encourage you to come and visit the school.

School Curriculum Overview

At MKMS our aim is to ensure that every child learns through access to a broad and balanced curriculum which is adapted to challenge and support individual children. We strive to create a stimulating learning environment which will engage all children and make them want to learn. This means that they will develop a love of learning and a natural curiosity which will stay with them throughout their life. We monitor children’s progress and development carefully so that new skills and ideas can be introduced as soon as a child is ready to progress to the next stage of learning. We believe that children learn most effectively from first hand experiences and we provide these through practical lessons and by offering a wide range of off-site learning enrichment opportunities. Our curriculum provides opportunities for all pupils to learn and achieve and it promotes pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. We know that the mental health and well-being of our children is critical to success in school and life, so education about mental health and well-being is an integral part of the school curriculum. We also ensure that we prepare pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life in modern Kashmir. These include:
